This trick will help you to install Windows XP if you have installed Windows Vista first. Suppose you have installed Windows Vista in drive C and you need Windows XP in D drive,then do the following.
- Perform a clean install of Windows Xp by booting from Xp setup CD.
- Boot from Windows Vista DVD and select regional settings then click next.
- Select Repair your Computer,then it will detect Windows Vista’s partition and repair all types of problems which caused boot problems in Vista.
- Click on Repair button OR then choose Startup Repair option.
- Restart and boot into Windows Vista and run CMD (as Administrator) and execute the following commands one by one.
- bcdedit /create {ntldr} /d “Earlier version of Windows”
- bcdedit /set {ntldr} device boot
- bcdedit /set {ntldr} path \ntldr
- bcdedit /displayorder {ntldr} /addlast
Reboot the computer now . Now you will see both the versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista in the boot menu.
