    • this is amazing , it helped me to solve lot of problems on my comp,
& now it works very very fast & smooth, thnx

    • It's simple, backup the registry before applying these tweaks.
And then you can revert back to your former settings if you don't have the desired effect.
The person that made this tweak in experiencing benefits. As will many others.
However this all depends on the computer you're using. And the software and hardware you already have installed.
So always backup the system before applying things that edit or tweak your systems registry in any way.

    • This tweaks rocks! Just installed it. Not sure if it gonna cause any problems in the future. Can anyone tell me how to restore the registry back to normal (without the tweaks) if anything happens? Please mail me: leejw29@yahoo.com.sg thanks.

      • If you have the .reg file that was used to apply the entries, open the file to modify and add a hyphen (-) to the beginning of each of the lines you want reversed and removed.
As always, it is best to save the registry before modifying anything related "regedit.exe /s filename"

    • Here’s the text of the tweaks. But need help in resetting them:

    • WARNING: INSTALL THESE TWEAKS AT YOUR OWN RISK! There are some unexpected side-effects which are proving a pain.

Ditto Tom’s comments. I installed these and they’re killing open processes too quickly at shutdown and, I think, they might be causing:
      1) Outlook not to remember custom settings
      2) Windows taskbar not to remember custom settings.

Please help with a clear log of what is changed by these tweaks.

      • First of all its not because of these tweaks these are happening. If you experience something unusual. Then here is the part to take care of [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
        “AutoEndTasks”=”1″
        “HungAppTimeout”=”1000″
        “MenuShowDelay”=”8″
        “WaitToKillAppTimeout”=”2000″
        “LowLevelHooksTimeout”=”1000″

        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control]
        “WaitToKillServiceTimeout”=”1000″

You can change the values to the windows default values. or just right click the registry file and choose edit and change the values as shown

        [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
        “AutoEndTasks”=”1″
        “HungAppTimeout”=”8000″
        “MenuShowDelay”=”15″
        “WaitToKillAppTimeout”=”10000″
        “LowLevelHooksTimeout”=”5000″

        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control]
        “WaitToKillServiceTimeout”=”1000″

    • How can you remove the tweaks?

    • nice post man, that nice for my win 7
