If you dont know whats an IMEI number for? then its just a 16 digit number that appears on the service providers network logs each time a call is made from the mobile phone. This number is unique to a particular handset and can be used to find out the location of the handset within one kilometer radius.
Why it is important to Have a Valid IMEI Number for the Mobile?
If you find your Mobile Phone stolen you will be safe if you know the IMEI number of your Mobile. The stolen mobile phones can be used by criminals for committing crimes, and you will b one who’s getting caught by the police for that.

If you find your mobile is lost or stolen, you can call the service provider and ask them to block the phone by using the IMEI number.
How To Check whether the IMEI Number of Your Mobile Phone is Valid or Genuine?
Typing *#06# will give you the IMEI number of your Mobile.
Note down the IMEI number and send it to 53232 via SMS.
The format should be IMEI .
If your Moible Phones IMEI number is valid you will get a Success message and if not you will get a invalid IMEI number message.

to get a valid IMEI number.

Its not for different cards its for a mobile phone, it can be either single sim or dual sim but the IMEI will be a unique number for that mobile. Just take the mobile to the nearest centre and you can get a working imei number for your mobile paying just 199 Rupees.
i have a dual sim china mobile. one sim is working fine but for sim 2, it says ivalid imei. when any sim is inserted in slot 2, it shows ivalid sim but the same sim works fine in slot1. what shuld i do. by dialling *#06# i get only one imei which is found valid on smsing the same on 53232
hai the same thing has happened me also it means ur sim2 is not valid iam trying to get valid imei from net because, the servicing centres also providing that imei nos,they were not giving any guarantee period for this y because government server was closed

But from 2nd december Only one SIM slot is working in my phone and whatevr SInm yut on other Slot, It says Invalid SIM…

Well, the idea is good, and it must be mentioned that from the 30h of nov, no mobiles in india that do not have valid imei numbers will remain active.

Friend its not possible now to register IMEI Number online. You need to go to the nearest telecom office to get the details regarding the new IMEI number which is valid.

Hi ajeet, the same problem is faced by many, i have discussed this problem with some of those, as per their inquiry it was reported that only the one slot can be activated correctly with validity. But some who have purchased a dual sim mobile with proper IMEI number (not china mobs) dont have this problem now. You can try contacting the Airtel customer care in Uttar Pradesh. I hope you are there.

The Genuine IMEI implant program is no longer there, so you have to contact your service provider for getting this done.
